As the year 2020 came to a close, the consumer finance category witnessed varying levels of engagement across top applications in Europe. Here's an overview of how these apps fared in the fourth quarter, with data courtesy of Sensor Tower.
Google Wallet saw a slight fluctuation in downloads, starting at 319K in late September and dipping to a low of 279K in mid-October before rebounding to 317K by the year's end. Weekly active users began at 4.17M and experienced a steady increase, peaking at 5.1M in mid-December.
T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş.'s Ziraat Mobile observed a notable spike in downloads, jumping from 158K to a high of 290K in early December, settling at 150K by the end of the month. Active user count started strong at 7.4M, rose to 7.8M in early November, and ended the quarter with 7.67M active users.
Flowe S.p.A. Società Benefit's FLOWE – Pay better, be better experienced a remarkable surge in downloads, increasing from 19K to an impressive 244K in late November and concluding the year with 55K downloads. The active user base mirrored this growth, starting at 57K and reaching 450K in late November before closing the year at around 207K.
Banco Santander's Santander app downloads moved from 94K in late September to 67K by year's end, with active users declining from 4.57M to 4.2M in the same period.
Lastly, Star Finanz GmbH's Sparkasse Ihre mobile Filiale downloads showed a downward trend from 85K in September to 66K in the final week of December. Weekly active users decreased from 6.43M to 6.22M over the quarter.
